New Bedroom Inspo

Hands down, the best part of moving (at least in my opinion) is redecorating. That certainly doesn’t mean you need to start entirely from scratch, because it’s definitely easy to style pieces of furniture in totally different ways and get a whole new look without having to toss/sell things and re-order brand new pieces. When I move later this fall, I’d like to mix and match furniture/decor I already own with some fun new items in order to get a brand new look.

Don’t get me wrong, I love how my room in my current apartment (pictured above) turned out and will be sad to leave this setup, but I’m feeling like going for something that’s a little more bohemian and funky versus classic and preppy. I’ve been drawn to colorful oriental-looking rugs, gold sconces, and…for the first time in my life…dark wooden furniture.

Below is some inspo (thanks to Pinterest, of course!) for my new space. I realize that many of these looks are all basically variations of the same thing…don’t laugh at me!

And a few products that are on my wish list (oneΒ of which I’ve already ordered, oops!):

So I ordered this after seeing it on Alaina's and Jackie's Insta stories and can't wait for it to arrive!

I'm realllly liking these gold sconces for either side of my bed. They're currently on sale at Urban Outfitters and are such a great shape and size.

Love, want, need this mirror and will probably be ordering when I settle on a place (and if Ballard has a coupon or two!).

I also scored a brown, vintage-looking dresser (like the ones shown in the Pinterest images above) on Craigslist a few weeks ago and love it! I’m considering painting it white but that may make it look a little more shabby chic, and while that’s definitely a fun style, it isn’t really what I’m going for here. Another great find was a boho-looking rug that I purchased during a “sample sale” that Rugs USA was having online. It’s about 5 by 8 and was only $44! That isn’t a typo–similar looking rugs from sites like Lulu and Georgia (which I absolutely love) go for about 10 times that much, so I was happy for mine to arrive and have debuted it in my current room for the moment. Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks/months! First step is to actually find an apartment πŸ˜‰
